Flight Lessons

Gordon Kane, one of the senior flight instructors at Fiordland Aero Club in Te Anau, now based at the Manapouri Aerodrome. Gordon has to date over 300 hours flight instructing experience, and takes a personal interest in his students individual adaptation and orientation in their aviation training.

Visitors to Te Anau and Manapouri are welcomed to visit the aeroclub and be introduced to the Bantam 22S microlight and participate in an introductory flight to get the feel of flying. During this flight, under Gordon's supervision visitors are encouraged to pilot the aircraft.

This flight costs NZD$100 per hour and is a highly recommendable experience, which Gordon can film the student during their flight.

As an estimate at the cost of NZD$1000 a average person, male or female, should under normal circumstances be able to achieve their first solo status. This means that the individual will be able to take the aircraft and be able to fly alone for a short duration flight. This is value for money.

Gordon can take persons from their first introductory flight through to their final flight test examination at the completion of their training. Every aspect of their pilot training, including study assistance for aviation exams, advice on planning their pilot training is offered by Gordon free of charge.

Gordon's un-endable patience and optimistic disposition gets his students through the difficuilt stages.

Gordon takes pride in the development of the safety competence of his students. Contact Gordon.
